Man oh man, talk about a busy weekend. Friday night was the official opening party for our indoor skatepark. We had an incredible turnout, with over 200 people coming from all over Shanghai to skate our new park and enjoy some free beer & BBQ. The vibe was amazing.
Saturday was international Go Skateboarding Day and Vans was putting on Go Skate Day events all over China. They originally had a small tour of well-known Shanghai skate spots lined up, but the rain made for some last minute changes. Just as we were preparing for our opening party on Friday night, the good folks at Vans reached out to us about holding the day’s events in our newly opened indoor space.
Next thing we knew, we had a Vans kicker-to-ledge placed in our park and our ramps were adorned with the infamous “Off The Wall” logo. I was hyped. It was great to see such a turnout for our first opening weekend! According to our guestimations, the weekend’s events brought in over 500 people, with a bunch returning for Go Skateboarding Day after attending our opening the night before. This got us hyped!
Check out some photos from the event below and stay tuned for a short video as well as some more photos and details from the event coming in the next couple of days.
